 St. Thomas now offers a Hearing Loop for hearing aid users equipped with T-coils installed just before Easter by Fox Valley Hearing Loop. This loop provides a magnetic, wireless signal that is picked up by the hearing aid when it is set to “T” (Telecoil) setting.
Understanding speech in reverberant places like the nave of our church is often difficult, even with hearing aids. The loop results in improved speech understanding because the listener receives a clear signal without any background noise. Hearing loops are installed in churches around the world, including one at Westminster Abbey in England.
