The goal of the St. Thomas Youth Ministry is to gather students together in order that we might practice a Way of Life – a fully integrated life lived according to the teachings of Jesus – such that we then turn and live our lives for the benefit of others, thereby partnering with God’s ongoing re-creation and restoration of all things in this world.
That’s a fancy way of saying: we want to live in such a way that makes this world a better place. “We believe that the best possible way to live is by putting the teachings of Jesus into practice, with the Spirit of God empowering us,” says Aran Walter, Youth Pastor. “It is pure joy to see students come together and know they belong to a community that is seeking to cause heaven to crash into earth.”
The St. Thomas Youth Ministry has multiple ways in which students can engage with one another and with God. Sunday mornings are time for Film School – we watch movies and talk about them. Sunday afternoons or evenings include things like service projects, game nights, Kaleidoscopic Worship gatherings, and more. Sundays are for any and all 6th – 12th graders. Wednesday evenings are D-Groups which welcome any and all 7th – 12th graders who simply desire to belong to a community that is trying to Love God and Love One Another. We also do retreats, mission trips, summer camps, and other special events throughout the year.
